Pick up a bargain
Do you love a bargain but are they mostly still hanging in your wardrobe with the labels
still on? Let your favourite image consultant guide you through what to buy in Nottingham
in the January sales for the coming spring/summer season.
In the catwalk collections there was an abundance of skirts and dresses. The skirt suit was still present but in softer colours that tone down the hard masculine edge of the autumn/winter, but still keep the fitted waist. For next season look for detail or prints on jackets. For those of you that loved the maxi dress last summer it is set to continue next season in floral prints, either in small pretty flowers or big bold ones. Look for dresses with an empire line or wear them with a belt for a feminine look. It is safe to say that floral prints will be very strong for spring/summer.
Look out for bows; they can be either neatly tied or floppy. For blouses they can be on the neckline or detail on the front. They are also appearing on coats and shoes.
There were a lot of sheer fabrics on the catwalks; they were either fitted or very floaty kaftans. The colours ranged from the classic black to bold prints.
For those of you that are trouser fans, the wide and straight legs are here to stay and the waist line is still high.
If you are a fan of detailing then there were lots of frills and fringes on skirts, dresses, tops, coats and scarves in lots of different fabrics.
For accessories some of you will be pleased that they are still oversized. Pick up a pair of platforms or strapy t-bar sandals. There is always a huge array of colours but the main ones are muted brights, black and white but also black with cream. Yellow was very popular in varying shades as was pink, blue and green.
